Policies
Attendance
To receive credit in an Adult Education class, a student must attend class sessions regularly, exhibit good conduct, and complete all required class work. The school is financed by State and Federal funds allocated on hourly attendance. Therefore, students MUST be in regular attendance to ensure continuation of the class. Classes with attendance below sixteen students per hour are subject to reduced hours or cancellation. Individual students may be dropped due to lack of attendance.
Children in class
Children are not permitted in Adult Education classes. Students must make off-campus child care arrangements.
Publicity and Photo Release
As an OAE student, you may be photographed or filmed for district displays or other publicity and public relations purposes. Your registration indicates your agreement for these purposes. If you feel otherwise, please submit a letter to the Oroville Adult Education Administration.
Public Complaints
All complaints must be written, signed and filed with the Principal of Oroville Adult Education.
Uniform Complaint Procedures
It is the goal of Oroville Adult Education to ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal laws and regulations. The District has adopted policies and procedures for the investigation and resolution of complaints alleging failure to comply with applicable State and Federal laws. The District monitors compliance with provisions outlined in the uniform complaint process. Complaints or allegations regarding noncompliance with applicable State and Federal laws should be submitted in writing to the District Office at 2211 Washington Avenue, Oroville, CA 95966. Copies of the Uniform Complaint Procedure Policy are available in the OAE office.
Lost Items
OAE is not responsible for any lost or stolen items, or any item left behind in any of the classroom locations.
Food and Drinks
No food will be allowed in classrooms and only drinks in approved, close-topped containers will be allowed.
Tobacco
All OUHSD schools are tobacco free zones. Smoking is prohibited on or near any OAE campus.
Student Conduct
All OAE students are required to follow appropriate student conduct as prescribed in the OUHSD Discipline Policy and OAE Code of Conduct. Students may be suspended or dropped for violations.
Weapons
No weapons of any type are permitted on or near any OAE campus.
Returned checks
OAE will accept a personal check with an ID card. There is a $25 charge on any returned check. Failure to pay this fee will result in the matter being turned over to the District Attorney Check Fraud Division.
Nondiscrimination Policy

Adult Education shall promote programs which ensure that discriminatory practices are eliminated.
