Policies

Attendance
To receive credit in an Adult Education class, a student must attend class sessions regularly, exhibit good conduct, and complete all required class work. The school is financed by State and Federal funds based on enrollment and completion of class and programs. Therefore, students MUST be in regular attendance to ensure continuation of the class. Classes with attendance below twenty students per hour are subject to reduced hours or cancellation. Individual students may be dropped due to lack of attendance.

Children in class
Children are not permitted in Adult Education classes. Students must make off-campus child care arrangements.

Publicity and Photo Release
As an OAE student, you may be photographed or filmed for district displays or other publicity and public relations purposes. Your registration indicates your agreement for these purposes. If you feel otherwise, please submit a letter to the Oroville Adult Education Administration.

Who may attend?
Classes are open to all adults 18 years or older. (Residency in Butte County or Oroville is not required.)

Course Cancellation or Withdrawal
Oroville Adult Education reserves the right to discontinue, shorten, postpone, combine classes, and/or change instructors.

First Class Attendance
Attendance is required at the first class session or student may be replaced with someone on the wait list.

Refunds
Choose your classes carefully. Refunds will be made only when a class is full or is cancelled due to low enrollment.

Book Purchases
Some Career and Technical class books are available for purchase in the front office. Adult Education does not repurchase used books. If a book contains software, the book is considered used if the seal is broken.
