Student Success Story
Andrea Stone has a life story that inspires.
This young woman refused to let her disablities and lack of confidence keep her from reaching her goal. One of Andrea's goals was to have a meaningful job helping other people.
She decided to persue the goal of becoming a CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant). She knew that the coursework would be very challenging for her so she began to prepare for the CNA class several months before the start date.
Andrea come to school three days a week to the ABE (Adult Basic Ed) class was open to brush up on her basic skills. She knew that reading and math are keys to success and she persisted. Here is what she said about her adult ed class; "The coursework was very challenging for me but my teachers were angels. Susan and Debbie are very understanding and encouraging. They have helped me so much I couldn't thank them enough. My reading levels are up and so are my math skills. I now feel the confidence I need to go out there and find a job. I want everyone to know that if I can do this, so can they!"
Andrea successfully finished the CNA class a few weeks ago and passed the state boards with flying colors. Congratulations, Andrea. You will make a wonderful Nurse!
