So you have just received your first computer, now what? Do you want to learn how to turn on your computer, drive a mouse, visit the internet and use email to keep in touch with family and friends? Join us in the basic computer class.

Digital Photography
This class is taught by professional photographer, Tonya Paul, so the class covers more than working with the computer; it will help you take better pictures. Learn how to use the location and lighting for the best effect and then how to use some basic techniques to enhance your efforts with Photoshop Elements. Learn how to change contrast for better pictures, cropping, adding special effects and much more. Classes offered for beginners and intermediate users.

Drop In Computer Lab/$10 Month
Basic computer knowledge is required. Students must sign the Computer Agreement. Students must register at the front desk and wear an ID badge. Hours subject to change. Computers subject to availability.
Printing limit/5 pages a day. Note: All internet activity is monitored by OAE server system.
eBay (for Intermediate Users)
Advance to the next level in eBay. Learn about opening an eBay store, how to use the powerful eBay tools and much more in this information-packed class.
Class requires basic computer knowledge and an eBay account. Class is taught by eBay Power Seller, Miriam Otto. This class is for students that have some eBay selling experience.
eBay (Introduction)
Looking for a way to make some extra cash? Work for yourself and be your own boss. Make money by selling on eBay! You’ll learn how to research what your items are worth, create attractive listings, take sharp photos, pack and ship, and put an item up for auction on eBay. Class requires basic computer knowledge and an eBay account. Class is taught by eBay Power Seller, and frequent eBay Radio guest, Miriam Otto.
Introduction to Computers
Keyboarding/Typist
Get the job you want! Increase your typing speed and earn a typing certificate. Whether you are a beginning, intermediate or proficient keyboarder you can increase your speed and accuracy. Drop in, open entry class lets you choose when to come to class and how long you want to stay. Open entry/open exit.
Medical Assistant/Administrative
Medical Assistant classes consist of front office (Administrative) and back office (Clinical). Administrative Medical Secretaries must have knowledge of medical terminology and hospital, clinic or lab procedures. Duties include scheduling appointments, billing patients and maintaining medical charts, reports and correspondence using proofreading, editing and transcription skills. Students will learn the use of MOSS (Medical Office Software Simulator), basic office and bookkeeping procedures and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Available as a stand-alone certificate or part of the Medical Assistant certificate. (Accounting 1 is recommended but not required.)
Spring 2013 registration fee: $300 (plus books $233)
Completion of the following courses required for certificate: Medical Terminology, 40wpm and assessment requirement. (Medical Assistant/Clinical and externship also required if student wishes to take the CMA exam.)
